Book Review Book review: Room on the Broom ~ Julia Donaldson & Axel Sheffler

Halloween book reviews for Preschool, home and other Early years settings ..

Room on The Broom ~ Written by Julia Donaldson & Illustrated by Axel Sheffler.

We were lucky enough to stumble on this in a charity shop and was amazed at the flowing rhyme that paced perfectly throughout the whole story.

The story follows the witch as she flies across the skies accidently dropping things and meeting kindly creatures who offer to help her out ... in turn they take thier place on the broom as the story culminates in a battle with a dragon and a spell to create a new broom

Activities with this book
  • Excellent choice for a Halloween party story
  • Look at rhyming words ~ make up your own flash card examples that you can play pairs with ~ text or pictures
