Hi,

Your assessor should be able to observe you doing this in your practice Failing that, you should be able to cover this by writing a reflective account (personal statement) or asking for a witness testimony). It can be anything from having to re-arrange the way an activity is set up to allow all children to reach it, moving a table out of the way to make a larger walk way, putting key words in another language up on a display for a child with EAL.

Basically any change you have made no matter how small or temporary to suit a child/children in the setting.

If you really need to write an answer for this then you can use these examples with a little detail to start you off.

Hope that helps.

Hi, This question can be answered using simple adaptations such as, outside play not being possible due to heavy rain so you adapt by doing physical play indoors by dancing to music such as "Sticky Kids", or adapting for needs and abilities can be as simple as encouraging older children to complete balance beams by themselves but adapting to assist younger by holding their hands whilst they walk over them. Hope this helps. PS I found CCLD NVQ 3 Candidates Handbook by Miranda Walker really useful!

Can anyone give me any ideas as to adapting for "gender!"

I feel really silly, but I cannot think of a need for this. I work with pre-schoolers and I keep thinking that adapting to gender would be quite stereotypical and a form of discrimination almost.

Trying to think of an example where this would come into play but my brain is frazzled!

Any help would be much appreciated.
