Default Assessment time again.

Hi, my assessor is coming on Monday, (I know-a bit last minute again!) and I need to set up a physical activity for the 0-3years ages. I was thinking of setting up an obstacle course for the children using: The slide that is there already in the garden
A balance beam with a colourful mat at the end for them to jump onto (they do this activity a lot and really enjoy it)
Hoops and some bean bags-I was thinking of putting 3 hoops out and writing the numbers 1-3 in them, and seeing what number the children can throw to. I am aware that the older children (3+) will also want a go.
And if I can use the big garden, I was also planning on having a bike trail where the children can ride the bikes around the garden without getting in the way of the other activities. I realise that there is a lot there, but could someone please tell me which ideas are the best? I don't want to use all of them!

Hiya, 0-3 is a big gap for a physical activity, are all your Children in the upper age group or do you need to make sure the focus includes the youngest ?

No, there isn't a set age. The older ones would be better, but I can set up a physical activity for the babies too. I know that the babies like throwing balls and things so I could put some of those out too.

Your obstacle course sounds great. If you prefer planning for the older Children how about focusing on it as small group activity that the children can join in with, and leave when they want and then, if you are planning on paper show how you'd differentiate for the younger - having more adults around and offering slower paced, possibly less challenging activities and then for the even older group where more skillfull balancing and positioning games can be played. For an assessment trying to provide for all age ranges in one go might end up being a bit busy for you.

Sounds fab, hope you have a great time
xx

Thankyou very much. I spoke to my nursery about those ideas and they said, rather then just doing it for the brief 10 minutes that my assessor will be there for, that I could leave it set up for the whole day which would be better.
