K4D914) How to incorporate communication, language and literacy development into areas of play, imagination and learning in ways that are meaningful and enjoyable for children. can anyne give some indicators and advice on how to write about this.

Literacy should be introduced in an early year’s class room through rhymes and songs and by talking about what we are doing. We need to repeat for young children for them to listen and understand what we are saying and we need to give them time to take on board what we have said.
Language in early years is very much through adults modelling the language at all times.

Large picture books without words should be used so children can make up their own stories. Then first word letters books should be introduced with single simple cvc words.
Flash cards with pictures can be displayed around the room but these should not be used out of context or for formal letter teaching at this young age.
