• Taste.com.au ~ Australian website with a very nice selection of Gluten free recipes ... check though as not all are actually labelled (Gluten Free) on the front page but seem to be on their individual page !!

Online UK Supermarkets that provide the service to buy the recipe's ingredients online !!

• Sainsbury's.co.uk - Gluten Free Recipes
• Waitrose.co.uk - Gluten Free

Asda's recipe section doesn't return any results for Gluten free .. but does have a Vegetarian select option !!
Morrisons, Iceland, somerfield & Co-operative have yet to add this shopping facility to their virtual presence !!

There are a few variations on the gluten free symbol - but basically an ear of corn with a strike through seems to be the most common.

Thank you, we have a "gluten free child" i will pass this onto mum.
we manage really well, all cooking etc is gluten free, mum very kindly gets us flour etc on her daughters prescriptions, i.e. free
and none of the other children or parents seem to mind , also means everyone is the same!

It was really good to see how many places do sell gluten free foods now !!

The other thing to watch with children who are gluten free (which can also include children with autism who are on special diets) is the use of playdough, flour and water paste, and other messy play activities (e.g. pasta play) where they might be tempted to eat the spaghetti.

I once supported a child with autism on a GF diet and the school were fab at remembering to ensure he got his special snacks / meals / the children were aware not to share their foods with anyone as different foods made different people feel poorly, the teacher generally remembered to inform me / his parents about cooking activities so we could sort out alternative ingredients / activities but constantly forgot about the other messy play activities as it wasn't 'eating' but as we all know it may not be planned eating but the children do it anyway!
