handprint and footprint poems!
Last year, we got the children to do their handprints for their mams on mothers day and footprints for their dads on fathers day. (They liked making handprints, but LOVED making footprints! Squashing their feet into a tray of cold, gooey paint! Fantastic!) We laminated them too, along with these poems, so hopefully parents will keep them. :goodvibes
Handprints poem
Sometimes we may upset you
Even though we are so small
By leaving tiny handprints
On a table, door or wall.
But every day we grow a bit
And we'll be big one day
When all the tiny handprints
Have long been washed away
So keep these little handprints
To help you to recall
Just how big our hands were
That time when we were small
Footprints poem
Sometimes we may upset you
Even though we’re not that tall.
We may leave mucky footprints
On the stairs or in the hall.
But every day we grow a bit
And we’ll be big one day
When all the little footprints
Have long been cleaned away.
So keep these little footprints
To help you to recall
Just how big our feet were
That time when we were small.
