Government targets for early years
The Government recognises that access to high quality childcare is important for all parents and their children. The move to a graduate-led profession represents a transformation of the early years workforce.
To drive this transformation, the Government have made it clear that their aim is to have an Early Years Professional (EYP)
in every full day care setting by 2015 and one in every children's centre by 2010.

We are sessional care I was told what you have been told, by an ofsted inspector she said one of our playgroup staff would need a degree and eyps by 2010 I emailed the childrens workforce development council as we were concerned, as I have nvq4 and the manager has nvq3 did we need a degree or to employ someone with a degree? the answer was no this only applies to full day care settings. Wether it will then roll out to affect sessional settings at a later date I dont know, things constantly change as you know.
