General question welfare of the child??

hi im stuck can anyone enlighten me? my qs is what do you understand by the term welfare of the child? i understand it its about protecting the child and having the childs best interest at heart etc just need a little guide on this one, pls can someone help me?? thanks in advanced x sue

Welfare and Safeguarding usually go hand in hand. Check out your local councils Welfare and Safeguarding procedures for loads of help and can usualy be viewed on line. Your nursery will also have a copy usually in the form of a red book. Hope this helps and good luck.
