Book Review Book Review: One Two Buckle My Shoe

Book reviews for Preschool and Early years.

One Two Buckle My Shoe - written by Nicola Baxter and illustrated by Eric Smith

A classic rhyme that's been amazingly illustrated in this great book ..

Big bright double paged images that catch the attention and make reading and rhyming the fun it should be ..

BLURB:

Nineteen, twenty, my plate's empty ...
And it's not surprising with a hungry mouse about !

Follow the rollercoaster rhyme beneath Eric Smith's stunning pictures and,
like that plump little mouse, you'll need a long rest to recover !

ACTIVITIES

A great list of possible origins and the use of the Rhyme from Wikipedia - Buckle my shoe

Shoe lace outline template

The whole rhyme would make an excellent wall display project as well as a number line and to finish it early for younger children include this line at the half way point:
9 - 10 Let's do it again ..
Or as an alternative to the current - 9, 10 a feathery hen.

If you've used the Buckle My Shoe rhyme in your activity planning please post and let us know what you did and how it went ...
