Thinking about an activity in your setting where you focus on speech, language and communication consider what the activity is eg. word lotto, nursery rhyme or song, the book corner, and what it aims to achieve - letter formations, phonics, introducing new words, pronunciation, building words into sentences? Consider also how you encourage children to communicate effectively eg. using our faces for expression, praise and support, taking turns to speak, listening to what others say.
