There are 7 main guidelines on infant feeding that should be followed by childcare practitioners, this is important because eating habits and patterns become established at this age. It teaches them about what is healthy from a young age providing them with the foundation for a healthy life. The 7 guidelines are:
 Enjoy your food
 Eat a variety of different foods
 Eat the right amount to maintain a healthy weight
 Eat plenty of foods rich in starch or fibre.
 Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
 Do not eat too many foods which contain a lot of fat.
 Do not have sugary foods or drinks too often.

hope this helps
