Texture crawl laying different textured materials on the floor and getting your baby to crawl and feel them with hands and feet best if you join in to, on a roll place the child on their side propped up by a blanket behind them then lay beside them and get them to roll to you. bright coloured sock or a rattle toy that attaches to the foot and get the baby to lift their foot to see /and hear the toy and ask what have you got there? We have a crawling tunnel a plastic building which allows children to crawl through be the other side calling encouragement ,Tummy time lay the child on their tummy then get down with them and make faces and sounds to encourage them to lift up so they can see your face. for toddlers fallow the leader ,jumping how high, race to the ribbon , bean bag races and tossing the bean bag. Climbing the climbing frame and using the slide , riding the tricycle ,walking up and down the stairs anything which causes the babies and young children to use their large muscles .pull apart and snap together toys ,push and pull toys ,copycat, crawl and chase, hand over the top game,
Fine motor skills
Unwrap it wrapping up favourite toys or treasures in paper and getting the babies to open it ,gloop which allows children to make marks ,treasure boxes so children can work on pincer grip and holding things Paper and crayons for mark making , painting ,building bricks ,uses a spoon to feed themselves , washing and drying their own hands with help, threading beads or pasta , turning pages of a book, cutting out shapes with scissors ,doing puzzles ,rhymes which need certain fingers held up like 5 little ducks, anything which requires small precise hand and finger movement .
Hand eye coordination
Puzzles, building bricks, lego, peg boards , beads, dominos ,threading beads ,making marks shape sorters, copycat, crawl and chase, hand over the top game, drawing matching shapes ,threading beads, using a spoon to feed themselves ,
Listening and responding
Music and musical instruments , stories , singing and rhymes , games like pat a cake ,name objects , books with flaps ,action songs when children get older then they can also fill in missing words from songs they know well.
Social and emotional competence
Making faces with baby ,copycat, aeroplane baby lifting baby up while you make funny faces ,peek a boo, singing rhymes , make believe phone calls etc, mirror magic playing games with baby and mirrors ,peek a boo 2 where you hide under a cloth, crawl and chase, circle time , sharing treasure boxes with an assortment of objects ,mirrors ,prams or push and pull toys .
