The groups most at risk of discrimination are as follows:

o Age
o Disability
o Religion
o Ethnicity
o Gender
o Sexuality

Possible Effect on the children and the families
Due to discrimination families can experience low self esteem/confidence, feelings of isolation, fear of rejection. This can have negative effect not only on the child being discriminated against, but all the other children within the setting as they are not being allowed to participate equally. No child should be introduced to inequality.
Social status
