General question psychological

Hi please can anyone help with this question i have been stuck on it for 3 days and can not seem to figure out the psychological part of it. quick brief would be helpful as i have struggled to find any information online, nor does my course materials seem to be helping.

Explain what is meant by play being a psychological necessity ???

most courses term this question as innate. why do children have a need to play
