Upholding rights means that you're looking for the lengths that the setting goes to in order to provide opportunities for play and to see if there is any potential discrimination. Evaluating that enables you to find ways to improve provision and overcome any issues - eg. does the setting offer a service to a particular age group, are there restrictions over duration of & the setting's opening time, does the setting value cultural difference and uphold all children's right to come along & play? are there environmental barriers that prevent access to children with impairement or disability?
