Highfive Christmas parties ?

Looking forward to your Christmas parties?

Who organises them and do you book entertainers or play your own games ?

Our Christmas party will be a little different this year. We used to buy the presents provide all the food etc. it was prety much a closed shop with just the children and the staff. But following a successful Teddy Bears Picnic at the end in July where we invited Mums/Dads/Carers to join us, they provided a plate of food for their child. We all ate together on the floor, it was very relaxed everyone was chatting the children were well behaved. We then played Parachute games etc.

Our Christmas party will be run on a similar theme as the Teddy Bears picnic. We will ask Mums/Dads/Carers, to bring in a plate of party food for their child, (this gets round health and safety issues around cooking, also food allergies etc). We will buy the presents for all the children, Father christmas is a must. We are going to provide Mince Pies, Mulled Wine, tea/coffee for the Parents. We will play parachute games again as the children really enjoy them, also pass the parcel, Hokey Cokey if we have time . We will end the session with the children singing festive songs which they have been learning this half term. This helps build stronger relationships with the child's family.

ours is much the same each year, and works well for us!

we do a small plaything for the parents at the beginning, this year we are singing 8 songs with the children dressed up. then we have a magician come in then some games then santa! we dont do food but provide a snack. also the paretns provide the gift to the value of £5 so each child gets something they want
