How about a messy play area with gloop, shaving foam or hand painting, or use jelly and thick custard, that way you know they wont come to any harm, unless they have any allergies.
obviously due to the age and always putting things in their mouth this area would need constant supervision.
Playdough to encourage fine motor skills and encourage them to manipulate and play with new textures.
A physical play area encouraging gross motor skills, balls, beanbags, small hoops.
A sand box with sieves, cups and funnells.

P.S I like the idea of your welsh wall, I am welsh - a taffy x
Good luck

Hi, do you have rhymes, books and toys? maybe you could take a look overall, make a floor plan of your room and outside areas, see what activities are planned and what happen spontaneously.

Maybe evaluate what you have going on by looking at how children use the resources and areas, what they move around, ride on, push, post, build, look at, listen to, what they are less engaged with and what they are currently enjoying at home that you can extend on?

Supporting speech, language and communication can prompt ideas as well as a toddler room search - great for seeing other layouts

Best wishes
