Short term planning needs to take account of children's current interests, learning styles, schemas etc and how you will use these to plan exciting activities that will help consolidate their learning and development and / or encourage them to learn more.
So a child is interested in water play... you might add some buckets and sieves.
A child has been to the farm at the weekend with parents... you might get out the farmyard books, look back at photos from your last visit etc.
Paperwork should reflect this and then show how you have evaluated your activities so that you are always aiming to improve.
