Default Hi and Hello!

Hi, I just wanted to say hello, because I'm new around these parts, and because it's a friendly thing to do!
I will give you a small introduction about myself but try not to go on too much because we all have lives!
So hello, I am Mark, and I am 24, and I currently work in a nursery and in an out of school club, and I am studying for my ENVQ Level 3 in Childcare, which is going well, but am finding it hard to fit everything in!
My love of playing Xbox doesn't help!

So yeah that's about it! If you want to know anything more, just ask!
Also, are there many other guys on here? I only ask because I'm the only guy at my nursery!

Thanks and see you all around!

hi Mark,
I have a male after school club assistant and a different male holiday playscheme assistant. the playscheme assistant has not come across any negativity being a man in a mainly female environment but my after school club assistant has had lots of negative feedback from parents. Do you think you are treated differently because you are male, or have to do something different just because you are male??

I get a lot of positive comments from parents! They all seem to say I'm a good male role model and that it's nice to have a man around, plus, I don't know what all the women at work would do without me cos I'm the only one who'll carry the big bags of sand up 2 flights of stairs!
I'm also just wondering what kind of negative feedback the man assistant has received?

Hi Marko, I'm very new to this site as well, im sure you'l find it more than helpful. I work alongside a male in nursery and all the parents were happy and welcoming with him. Not to mention the children, the boys love having a male around to play football and races.

he has had a lot of parents asking if he has had appropriate training, has he been crb checked, is he qualified etc why does he want to work with children...must have other motives!!! i had to write a letter to all parents saying he was to be treated the same as all the other staff...all staff went through the same checks no matter what gender, age, race etc
