The new approach to supporting music education in schools - music hubs – has not been successful enough in improving music education for all children in schools, according to an Ofsted report published today. Ofsted is now challenging them to do better.
Music in schools: what hubs must do finds that many hubs do valuable work in providing instrumental teaching and supporting local orchestras, choirs, festivals and music courses as well as building local partnerships. But this work reaches only a minority of pupils.
