Crossfingers Contemporary issues for PGCE interview

Hey guys

I'm new to the forum but I'd really like some help.

I have an interview for a PGCE course for early years teaching on the 8th. We've been asked to research a contemporary early years issue to write about in an exam and to talk about in the interview.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had an interview like this? Maybe you have some suggestions for a contemporary topic I could look at?

I was thinking about looking at The Rose Review and the talk of extending a play-based curriculum into Year 1 but I'm unsure what the current status of this is. Do they have a play-based curiculum in Year 1 now? I heard the Tories are against the report.

Any suggestions would be really helpful as I'm very nervous about this interview!

Thanks in advance,
Sarah
