Default Updating policies questions?

Our policies have not been properly updated for a while and I am now starting to re-write and add new ones. The current ones are number eg page 1 of 20, by working on the most desparate ones first they are being updated out of order which will trow the current number system out as some of the newer ones are on more pages IYSWIM.

Do the police have to be numbered or can we have them in a file with dividers and have these labelled say ABC?

What do you all do??
many thanks

Our polices are just in a folder, not page numbered - but we have got a contents sheet in front..........so they are in order but just not numbered.

Default Policies

Got my policies from ncma website - you don't have to be a member to get them - and they've just been updated to include link to eyfs standards. I display mine in a folder and separate them under headings for the five outcomes of 'every child matters'. Ofsted seemed to like them - the key is make sure you understand them, implement them and ensure parents have access to them.

We don't have a specific policy on this but we cover this area in our transitions policy working with other settings & schools for children who may attend more than one setting or leaving to go to school.

Working with other settings is also mentioned in our special needs policies where we cooperate and work with schools in the interest of a child with sen.

This area may be covered in other policies but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.

All settings will have different policies and procedures for their environment and individual conditions etc
