Focussed support for unit 115 / CYPOP 41 / HSC 3045

I am doing HSC 3045 as one of my optional modules, I have seen posts on here about how the idea is that as it is an optional module you should use your other modules to help you answer the questions. However i wondered if anyone had found any useful sites or textbooks to use to help with it? I have found the CACHE textbook so useful for the other modules, as it is clear and easy to understand just wish it covered this one to ! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I did the CYPW and found the wording the tricky bit, especially at the start and trying to learn/understand what it is actually asking of you to explain/analyse/demonstrate etc. I found textbooks very useful but again, I did a placement at a school within foundation stage 2/yr1 so crossing over to the national curriculum was tricky as the books generally talked about EYFS. I was very lucky to have supportive mentors and assessors to help if I needed.

This site helped me immensely on certain questions, whether I asked or used the search. Having someone just being able to break down the question or simply putting it in more basic terms really did help. Once I got to my optional units though, having already done the mandatory, it did seem to cross reference to what you have already learnt or put into practice.

Do you have any kind of student log book or perhaps the courses website to refer back to? There may be definitions to help if you are struggling with the questions. There are plenty of childcare books out there to help, but I feel a lot do reiterate what is said in another (unless is a specific book).

My best advice is to keep researching, there are very useful websites for factual and guidance, and make the most of being a learner by asking questions (whether on here, your work placement or assessor/mentors), even if you feel silly or like you should know, it's better than none at all and struggling - no one is going to expect you know it straight away with little help

Hi, the hsc3045 unit holds additional information that might help.

Useful websites are CBF.org.uk , Talking point, handsonscotland and if you've access to books understanding behaviour and children's behaviour - on amazon are both supportive reads.
