Ask open ended questions eg how many are there?
Use lots of verbal praise and body language eg smiling etc,
Gently suggest what number comes next if they get stuck.
Point out numbers in the environment,
make suggestions when doing matching activities eg is it this one or this one do you think?
Help child count by encouraging them to point to items as they count them.
Ask questions during everday routines eg how many cups do we need today?
Thats a few ideas
