M&DCVS is a small charity with a budget in the region of £100,000. The bulk of this funding comes from three sources, the PCT, county council and the district council. The latter has funded M&DCVS since its inception in 2001. Last year the grant was cut from £23,00 pa to £20,400 pa. The council has now decided to axe the funding (in spite of an EIA confirming a negative impact in excess of that shown for EIAs in other areas of its spending), thus threatening the sustainability of the organisation. Trustees have decided to run the organisation for 2011-12 using reserves. After that, the future looks bleak.
