health and safety

hi,
can anyone help
HOW TO SUPPORT CHILDREN TO ASSESS AND MANAGE RISKS FOR THEMSELVES.

I need to write about the rights and choices of children/young people and health and safety requirements.

any comments would be most helpful

thanks

Nicky

Hello Nickyg
You can talk about resilience. How they become resilent. for example- if they fall off a toy in the garden then if they feel it is safe to do so they get back up and try again. supporting them to do so would be reassurance but perhaps a few questions like ' do you think that toy is too high for you' this would make them assess the risk themselves before attempting the task again. Only a small bit of info to get you started x
