CYP 3.4, 4.1 and 4.2 is it me???

This is my final unit and it is causing me no end of grief.

4.1 Explain the policies and procedures of the setting or service in response to accidents, incidents, emergencies and illness.

4.2 Identify the correct procedures for recording and reporting accidents, incidents, injuries, signs of illness and other emergencies.

In my addled state they sound like the same blinking thing and I feel I am repeating myself. I've written about my settings policies in general terms in 4.1, and about details in 4.2. Does that sound about right to you lovely people?

I think the difference is 4.1 is asking what you would do. For example a child has a bleeding nose-I would give the child some tissue to put over their nose while I get the 1st aid box and put on protective gloves, send someone for a 1st aider etc etc.
Where as I think 4.2 is how you would report and record the incident-I filled in a letter for the parents of the child informing them their child had a nose bleed etc, I wrote the incident in the relevant book.

I hope this helps :-)

Thank you yes. I ended up writing the two units together rather than two separate pieces. Nearly done, the folder is handed in on Tuesday!

I used this method and I got this unit signed off today :-) I'm glad I could help.
