This document will replace the current guidance on Safeguarding children involved in prostitution, issued in 2000. The guidance will supplement 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (WT2006), and is aimed at local safeguarding children board partners, practitioners and other professionals working with children and young people.The document will provide information on different forms of sexual exploitation, helping local agencies develop prevention strategies. It will help identify those at risk of sexual exploitation, and take action to safeguard and promote the welfare of particular children and young people. It will also help take action against those intent on abusing and exploiting children and young people in this way.
