Default IT training ?

What IT training have you come across to help anyone interested with the basics of internet use & general word processing ?

Do you ever hold in house sessions to build PC/IT confidence or find everyone makes their own arrangements?

What sort of projects would you recommend to anyone thinking of organising an IT introduction ?

Funny you should ask that.... at my recent EYFS training we were told it was the duty of ALL childcare workers to find time the research the disk!!!

I said this was not always possible as some people have no IT skills or even a computor.. the reply was .... "it is their[workers] duty to keep up-to-date with current technology-- even if it meant a trip the the library in their own time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say on my course evaluation form I asked for IT courses- quick smart! It did make me think however, and I'm now trying to make time (more stress!) to take my own laptop in and give staff quick lessons on some of the basic i.e how to open the disk.
xx
