Coffee National Downshifting Week 19th - 25th April 2008

International Downshifting Week

Saturday 19th to Friday 25th April 2008

and is all about slowing your life down for a moment .. taking stock of whats going on around you and deciding if a few changes could improve things .....!

There are quite a few useful free resources on the Downshifting website to check out.

Tracey Smith Is the organiser of this initiative and her quote taken from this page of her website certainly struck a chord!

Quote:
We need to ditch the guilt for what we are NOT doing
and start feeling good about what we ARE doing!
Positive energy is incredibly infectious and YOU, my captive reader, will be the true Eco-Hero if you do something with your newfound perspective on 'Slow Down and Green Up;......
It's over to you!
Reproduced with Tracey's permission... thankyou

Here are a few basic ideas that takes a routine to form but could make for a better living environment !
  • Turn down the heating a notch !
  • Check dripping taps.
  • Recycle your paper, glass & plastic if possible!
  • Support your local shops
  • Put a bag of stones in your toilet cistern !!! (saves water and doesn't change performance lol)
  • Make your own compost !!
  • Drink more water !
If anyone else has some simple tips please carry on posting ....
