Young people can now get involved in hands-on media projects through Mediabox, the £6 million youth media fund, which is being delivered on behalf of the DfES by a consortium of media organisations led by First Light Movies, and including the Media Trust, the UK Film Council and Skillset.
Mediabox aims to give disadvantaged young people the chance to design and deliver projects in a range of media, from film, TV and radio to new media. It aims to help young people develop their personal and social skills, acquire new knowledge and technical skills, and give them a voice to talk to decision makers about life in their communities.
