It's a great opportunity to bring this tasty fruit into your cooking, craft, and activity plans!
We have a few suggestions and would love it if you let us know if you have any more!
Cooking
Cutting, dicing & slicing apples can be great fun ...
Cook them slowly over a medium heat until 'stewed' and then serve with a shortbread biscuit or custard!
Art & crafts
Use apple leaves on your easels!
Have a light & dark green posterpaint available for the children to cover one side of the leaf.
Have a large sheet of paper already on the easel and press the 'painty' leaf onto - the leaf should make a great impression onto the paper!
Make patterns with green leaves and brown dried ones.
Use the leaves as collage materials,
Have a heap in the large tray and play hide and seek with animals that may like to hibenate for the winter and are just waking up ...

Activities
Infamous apple bobbing - but use small fishing nets instead of heads!!
Apple sizes & colours matching , although Bramleys are green bring in a few red apples as well... have the children group, count and sort them into small dishes/trays.
Apple & cup races..... as for egg & spoon - balance an apple on the top of a small beaker and have the children walk a straight or weaving course....
