Be Safe This Bonfire Night

The Firework Code

Fireworks on amazon

(UK) Only buy fireworks marked BS7114
Don't drink alcohol if setting off fireworks
Keep fireworks in a closed box or tin
Use fireworks one at a time, replacing the lid immediately
Follow the instructions carefully on each firework, using a torch or hand lamp, never a naked flame
Light them at arms length, using a taper, never a naked flame
Stand well back
Never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn't gone off, it could still explode
Never put fireworks in your pocket
Never throw fireworks
Always supervise children around fireworks
Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves
Never give sparklers to children under 5
Dispose of sparklers by placing them, hot end first, into a bucket of water
Keep pets and animals indoors
Don't let off noisy fireworks after 11pm

A great website for advice is berr.gov.uk

Fireworks: Be safe not sorry. Always follow the code.

Have fun whatever your plans.
