Hi, I would just give an example for each age range, for example:
0-3 months
Cries to let you know they are hungry, tired or need changing.
3-6 months
experiment with sounds, chuckles and laughs. Start to babble.
6-12 months
Begin to point, more sounds, attempt more complex sounds.
12-18 months
First words.
18-2 years
body language, gestures, actions and put words together
2-3 years
start to ask questions
3-4 years
understand nursery rhymes, use four or more words in a sentence, copy adult speech.
4-8 years
use more complex sentences, use speech to socialise. At 8 years they are a more confident speaker and can read and write.
8-16 years
Able and confident communicaters and able to interact sociably.
Hope this gives you some idea.
