Ways to make Spider webs ..
- Hexagon shaped piece of cardboard with punched holes in lined & criss cross pattern. Sew/weave wool in and out of the holes.
- Large piece of wood with nails Prenailed into place. Knot a length of wool and allow twisting, turning and free weaving to make a web. The larger the wooden base the better (great for a free play activity) add a large hairy spider once finished (ball of black wool and pipe cleaner legs !)
- Use lego type bricks to build web formations .
- Use 3 sized hexagons (small, medium, large) glue on top of each other. Make a large hole in the centre of them and let the children weave/sew thread from the from inside ( like attaching a sequin in place!)
- Embossed aluminium foil web :- lay a square of foil over a slab of flat clay/dough and use the wrong end of a pen/paintbrush to draw lines of a web into the foil (the clay should absorb the pressure and not pierce the foil ... fingers crossed!!)
Dip wool into a glittery gel based 'after sun' for a 'slippery slimy' web weaving experience!
use sparkly wool/ embroidery thread or cotton.
Have fun & keep on posting ways you've made webs
