Default Planning activities ?

Is planning activities and organising deployment a managerial role, joint responsibility or do you allow members of the team to take control of activities they've suggested or mentioned an interest in ?

All my staff have 100% involvement with both planning activities and overall daily planning - infact I seem to have very little to do with the planning at the moment!!! I just check it over once a week to ensure all areas are covered.

Where i work me as deputy of pre-school and the pre- school teacher are involved with the planning it usually involves her saying what topic shall we do and once decided i just hand her a piece of paper with ideas on. the other girl we work with has been told shes welcome to participate but as yet has not. we dont get alot of time so planning sometimes has to be this way.

It would be lovely to share the planning with someone else!

Or just to have someone to run ideas by...

*Big sigh*

each key worker should plan for the next day for the children they are working with. the focus activity, one a day MAX should be planned by everybody to meet the passions of as many children as possible. i dont work with any settings who still plan further ahead than a week it is gloriously positive and productive.

we have a loose theme for planning, where each day a different member of staff plans an activity within that theme but then within that theme each keyworker has to plan for their individuel key children,
