Gardening can be a very enjoyable experience which enhances the children’s learning it lets the children explore and learn about their environment . The children will learn also how food is grown what happens to the seeds as they grow and what the end result is .The child can see this everyday and feels a responsibility to look after the garden . The children can also eat the vegetables they grow. The children learn how to work in groups , thinking about personal hygiene , they are developing their muscles while digging , watering and harvesting. They are touching ,smelling ,tasting and seeing throughout the activity .They are naming plants , tools they are looking at shapes and sizes of each plant and vegetable .
Cooking is also exciting the children only get to do cold cooking at the setting for safety reasons the children love weighing and measuring out the ingredients ,the taste if safe to do so , texture ,smell and the sound they make when pouring they out. The different shape ans sizes of the ingredients , choosing the colour and shape the final result will be . The children can express their own ideas they are working together ,and sharing sometimes this links into a cultural celebration , where they can but the ingredients what happens when you mix the ingredients together .Hand eye skills , physical from mixing and clearing up new words from ingredients tools that they are using .
These give some idea of what a child can learn in a practical activity the children cover personal social and emotional development , creative development ,knowledge and understanding of their environment and the world, problem solving reasoning and numeracy , communication language and literacy and physical development .

I hope theses help we use them in are preschool
