legislations and regulations covering equality are:

1. DFES SEN code of practice
2. The Disability Discrimination Act 1995
3. Race Relations Act 1976 and the race relations amendment act 2000
4. Children’s Act 1989
5.Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA)

Equality is also covered in the

• UN convention on the rights of the child
• Care standards act 2000
• Early years foundation stage

Have you got the level 3 books to read up about these? as they will explain these in detail for you.

As for how these are implemented in your setting, have a look at your inclusion and equal opportunites policy as this will help you. But make sure you say you follow this policy and procedures at all times. You basically need to explain how the setting relates to these legislations and provides equal opportunities for all. Examples are: changing access to provision if a disabled child was to attend and welcoming all families regardless of their race, religion, background etc

Hope this is of some help x
