hi emma,
i have just done this question...
i used a book called child development 2nd edition by carolyn meggitt.
it has child development up to age 16, it contains physical, social-emotional and commuincation. it did take me ages to do it though but i think i was trying to research too many books at the same time.
in physical i also refered to puberity aswell - oo, scary!!
i have only just started my level 4 and yet to show my work to my assessor so i feel a bit out on a limb, if you know what i mean!!
there is a thread on this site were someone has recommened a list of books, i search my local library for most of them and bought a few. you'll have to do a search.
not sure if that helps any?

Thanks Madrupert
I appreciate your quick reply. I am doing level 4 online with a training company so dont have access to books very readily, but I will go to the library tomorrow and try to find them. This is my last unit to finish level 4 and I cant wait. I hope to finish within the next few days (touch wood, my head). Thanks for your help.
