Hi, a warm welcome in
This thread has a link for older children that you may find useful -
Math trail and this PDF from Cumbria gfl -
math trail ideas
For younger children maybe organise a water the flowers area - with sad sunflower faces as a needs & requirements sign which can be turned/with numerals if wanted to a smile once plant is well watered
- spray bottles with adjustable nozzles are good -
this is a good read, thread a bead, turn on lights, fill envelopes and the postman's bag, put the teds into bed, pile of cushions tower - number appliqued covers are good, paper plane folding/ball scrunching is a nice activity to station adults at for flying activity - count aloud & talk math - high low near far up down .. horizontal & vertical. Sort, match, order, identify, divide activities.
The main considerations for a younger child led trail is the minimised use of text as activity guidance - unless the children can read
the less adult direction the better, good to know the setting's environment, what's there, what isn't, what you can & can't do.
Very best wishes with it, let us know how it goes xx
