Hello again...Please any help would be much appreciated as I have nearly finished and getting blank brain at mo!!!

How does grouping together objects with similar characteristics and learning to sort and classify help children to learn?

Just a little direction needed, as I hope to finish tomorrow

Hi this is very basic mathematical knowledge, as a child is sorting and classifying objects according to characteristics eg material, texture, colour, size, shape, category eg animal or flower. It shows that a child can differentiate between objects, they can understand that some objects are similar in nature and some are different. It helps them to learn mathematical language eg bigger, smaller, colours, about textures eg rough, smooth and materials eg wood, metal Hope this helps
