Child is not allowed to join in

The parents of one of my key children has asked that their son does not participate in activities that promote other religions. They are christians. My setting is 60% EAL and we celebrate all festivals. What should I do. My manager is away at the moment so I can't ask her and her deputy says I don't know.

Its quite hard when parent don't want their child to participate In activities. What activities are you doing? If it is arts and crafts you could allow the child to still explore the materials you are using glitter? Tissue paper? Coloured card? And allow them to just do a picture of their choice.
