Hi, I am looking for any new/exciting ideas related to nursery rhymes to do with 3-4year olds in pre school? Would like something different? Thanks x

Default Nursery Rhymes

We had one little boy very much into farming and I wanted to take this learning into the rhyme area so decided on Old McDonald Had a farm. I used hand puppets including Old McDonald and all the different animals - pig, horse, duck, hen, lamb. When it came to each animal the child had to name their animal and the noise it made. It really engaged children in the learning and reciting of rhymes as well as recognising the different animals as some didn't know some of them!

The children wanted to do more rhymes with props so I am contemplating doing Little Star and getting them to make their own star shapes and decorate them - gives them recognition of shapes as well as exploring the junk art area which some of them never do!
