Default What job can I do with my NVQ3 in CYPW? Career progression and opportunities at EYE level 3

Whilst I was training for my NVQs I was working in Nurseries and after working in a few now I know that it's not for me, apart from nannying/child minding I'm not really sure what I can get into. There are tons of sites that say that an NVQ level 3 opens loads of doors but each of them only list a few.

I really don't know what to do, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thank you!!

Hi, you might be looking at additional training, the pathway options of the old level 3 CYPW meant different units were involved for each career choice - http://www.silkysteps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16003

The new Early Years Educator qualifications and other home nation equivalents enables these options: http://www.cache.org.uk/Qualificatio...28QCF%29-.aspx

Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?

Upon achievement of this qualification learners will gain their licence to practise and it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as:

• Assistant in Children's Centres
• Practitioner in nursery schools
• Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
• Pre-school worker

You can search the job database on National Career service website and match your qualification to the role you're interested in and if interested these sites might help pinpoint current vacancies
