I haven't got any paper work of the jobs I'm supposed to perform but basically I interact with the children, set out activities, I have changed nappies occassionally.

I understand that The Equality Act 2010 applies to me as a Nursery Assissant as I am required to treat all children and staff equally. but I dont understand what is asked of me for the rest of the legilations I have listed, but do know that I am obliged to follow all policies and procedures within my setting in order for the children to get the support they need.

I've been told the textbook 'CACHE Children's and young people's workforce' is the one I should be using and I can access that online through the college, but it doesnt help me with SHC 23 2.1 or 2.2

Setting is one level, the only rooms thats upstairs is the office and the baby room.

thanks
jodie

Hi, access the handbook online through your college's website and see if pages 34 to 41 help.

Those page help show you how legislation links to how you interact and treat children the same, the type of language you need to use, how you challenge discrimination - 'girls aren't allowed to play with cars' and encourage change - 'everyone can play with the cars, what game is everyone going to play with them?'

xx
