Q 4.2 Explain how multi agency teams work together to support speech language and communication
This is my answer but I dont feel its enough???
Multi agency teams such ad a teacher, TA and SENCO work together to support speech language and communication.
Once a delay in a childs or young persons development has been recognised a speech language and communication therapist would be contacted.
Together with SENCI an individual learning plan would be set up for the child to help and support them. This can either be done within the school or by attending a speech and language therapist. Information will be then shared with the childs teacher so help and support can be given in school. This may tequire a TA spending extra time with the child during reading time to help them with their pronunciation and the breaking down of words and phonics.
SENCO will work with the chikd and also the teachers to see if any additional support is required for example a Autism adviser if there maybe more interventions needed to support them.
Consider the same for a child in a day nursery setting, how do the parents access support, what about if parent disagrees, there is no SENCO requirement in a nursery also so how do practioniers support the child?
