TDA 3.4 you can research the benefits on
page 61 and how recognising positive behaviour is important for all children, especially those who tend to be reprimanded more than others. Quote: '
Even as adults we like to be noticed for something good that we've done' Research has shown that we need to be given six positives for one negative in order to balance this out.
B.F.Skinner's behaviourist theory, positive reinforcement and operant conditioning suggests that children will respond to praise and so will repeat the behaviour that gives them the recognition or praise.
