Consider how you would develop an inclusive policy for one of these areas and maybe involve these aspects:
help children develop a sense of identity
develop a sense of belonging
be welcoming
have resources to enable translation of language
plan cultural activities
build positive relationships
support, improve and promote participation
raise the chance for a child to have a positive outcome
It would help if you have copies of your setting's policies, can you ask if they have any combination of these?
- race/cultural diversity
- equality of opportunity/inclusive practice or equality diversity and inclusion policy
- safeguarding/bullying
- gifted and talented pupils
- special educational needs
- disability and access
