Hi working together to safeguard is a term used when agencies and individuals come together for the joint purpose of safeguarding. Does your local authority have a TAC - Team Around the Child approach?

Which handbook are you using?

If you open the online preview of this book on amazon.co.uk you can read about the different organisations on page 32 if you search using the word safeguarding.

Have you asked your setting about this? as even if they aren't currently working with any others they can. They should know the details of your LSCB and have policies and procedures that make sure staff know what action to take to keep children safe.

One example of external agencies are the DBS service providers and how checks are made by organisations outside of your setting to ensure that once someone has been offered a job only suitable people go on to work and be in contact with the children attending your setting.

Whistleblowing is another example where people can look for help when they're concerned inappropriate practices are happening in a setting. PCAW and Ofsted helpline

Does your setting have any books on safeguarding like this one? Safeguarding and Child Protection Jennie Lindon & Janet Webb

Hope this helps a little xx
