Hi, play and relaxation are rights under
article 31 of the UNCRC. If you apply each of the statements your tutor has given you to your own workplace/setting what could you write about?
Play is a right for all children and children should be provided with plenty of opportunities to play - Does your setting use EYFS, plan activities that are child-led, initiated and organise the layout of the setting, inside and outside so that children have lots of opportunities to play (are there different areas for different types of play)?
There are many ways in which early years settings meet the right of children to play. They do this by giving children opportunities to choose what they want to play and what they want to play with.
Can children select different resources by themselves in your setting for example construction toys, art materials?
Early years settings provide time for children to play indoors and outdoors.
Does your setting? When and how does that happen?
They also provide a wide range of equipment and resources for the children to use in these environments.
What equipment does your setting have for outdoor play? and what sort of resources are indoors?
If it helps,
pages 177+ of this book are useful reading, especially pages 188+ where the table lists a variety of activities that you know your setting also has - use the look
inside function on amazon search for the words
'preparing to play' then click to page 189 and also '
suggestions for planning' and click to page 185
Best wishes xx
